random musings...

It's been a whirlwind of a week around our place...fabric shopping, cleaning, packing and traveling. Coming down to Tennessee reminds me of summers in Houston...hot, sticky, muggy... But looking on the bright side, the scenery is beautiful and the fellowship is great...what more could one ask for? And so, since the camera usage hasn't been very much, here are a few photos from our week.

Fabric shopping with three of my dear friends, Jessica, Melinda and Lily.

My Mother and I.

Mrs. Riggenbach...er, the back of Mrs. Riggenbach.

Here we are displaying our lovely purchases.

There's no better way to travel than with homemade hummus, cilantro dip and roasted red bell pepper dip...

Dad, Grace and Caleb checking out the farm. Grace and William caught a few ticks yesterday...or did the ticks catch them... So now we're all terrified of the long grass and continuously checking each other for ticks. :)

And as is my custom, here is a picture of the Little Man who is wondering when he gets to sleep in his car seat.

a little update...

One of highlights of our year has come and gone...much quicker than we would have liked, I might add. We hosted three families, Dr. Sproul, Jr and a friend of my mom's during the week and had a lovely time getting to know each family better. Jared left for his summer semester at school on Sunday afternoon and the last of our company left on Thursday, so we've been kind of lonely. :) Christa and Joshua arrive on Wednesday to spend some time with us, so please be in prayer for safe travels for them, and for Daniel as he'll be home alone. :)

Now for the pictures...after picking through the photos we ended up with close to 1,000 photos from the whole event and we decided that we couldn't post that many on our blogs or even web albums, so here are just a few that highlight our week. The rest can be viewed by clicking the photo below...

Brown Sugar and William enjoying the outdoors.

Some of our church family and Presbytery friends went to see Prince Caspian on Monday evening.

It was so delightful to get to know Red and her family in person! We can't wait until next time!

I know this one is blurry, but having Goose in the house was like having another wonderful brother! I think he whooped Lil' Cowboy and Caleb in this wrestling match. :)

And the day our dear friends had to leave, we remembered to get a group shot. It's amazing how the Lord knits the hearts of His people together and how knowing some people for a few days feels like you've known them for years.

And the group shot with two other families...and these are just the kids! :) There were so many more photos that I wanted to post, but we've been having computer issues and this computer doesn't appear to have the photos, so stay tuned for the slide show...
