I am sure you are all rather uneasy at my absence, and I know you will be relieved to know that I haven’t died. There, you can put yourself at rest and breath now. In fact, I am still in one piece…minor scratches, bruises and such, but that comes with moving…okay, and I will admit, it also comes with being a Tiffany. Those who know me very well and have seen my scars will readily agree. ;-)

Actually, we have been very busy since arriving here in Illinois. I could go into all the details on what we have been up to, but that would be an awfully long story and it is very confusing. So, I will refrain from giving into the temptation to bore y’all with my life’s story, and give y’all a quick breezy update.

We were able to move in on Friday and Saturday. It did take two days for the truck to get unloaded and we did suffer some breakage, but personally, with all of the antiques that we have, I think the movers did a fine job. The driver and his assistant from our great state of Texas did some canoeing and fishing out on our lake when they finished. James (my fish hating brother) caught a good sized bass, and living up to his motto, “You don’t kill things that you don’t eat,” he let it go.

Sunday morning, we left our beautiful home in the country to stay in Tennessee for a few days. We had a great time visiting with friends that we only see once or twice a year, which was very nice. Wednesday morning saw us back on the road heading to spend the very first night in our new home. We found our sheets, put mattresses out, cleaned up a bit, and had a very restful night surrounded by unfamiliar, but wonderful sounds that you can’t get unless you live away from the city, like us!

Thursday and Friday, we arranged (re-arranged one or two more times just for fun;-)), our living room, most of our library, the master bedroom, the girls nursery, some of the basement, hung lots of pictures, cleaned, did laundry, and ate our first meal in our house. Friday evening, my parents, James, Christa, Emma and Caleb went to our Family Reformation conference. Yesterday all of us attended and had a great time with our friends here. Today was also a busy day. We had three families and one head of household join the church, which is a joyous celebration alone. But, to keep tradition and stay busy, we also had a baptism, and the last session for the conference was this afternoon.

Now the above is a much abbreviated version of one week in our house. Aren’t you glad I didn’t go into the details of the last month?
