After a days drive down to the wonderful state of Texas, we spent a few fabulous days visiting with old friends, making some new ones and best of all, we spent all weekend with Christa and Daniel. They stayed at the hotel with us and Christa was able to attend the conference with us. We didn't make it to our favorite restaurants since we were in Dallas and not Houston, but we did eat quite a bit of Tex-Mex, Middle Eastern food, Whataburger, and our last dinner with Christa and Daniel was at Macaroni Grill. Our long drive home greatly improved when we stopped in Missouri and picked up some Blue Bell Ice Cream. :)

But we are very happy to be back home, get back to a regular schedule and really get working on our Reformation day costumes. I'm setting up a costume site that will have pictures of our creations, so I'll post a link when I'm done.

A friend of mine in Texas requested more photos...so here are a *few* that I took while we were away.

Mom and Christa.

William concentrating before he makes an amazing throw...

He looks a little pleased with himself.

This is the closest resemblance of these lights that I took...

...and I think that out of all the other ones, this is my favorite. I'll put the other ones over here.

Have you ever had one of these? When I figure out how to make them, I'll let y'all know.

Food doesn't get much better than this...

Jessica and I were sitting at the end of the table and the conversation going on a few seats over looked like a silent film. We were hoping that subtitles would appear so we could catch on...but alas, our fate was sealed, so I took pictures instead.

"So Daniel, where are you? We are hungry and we can't leave until you get here..."

Yes, Daniel finally arrived, and we did get to eat. :)

Yes, I work on costumes when we travel. :)

If you look closely, you will see Jessica sitting in this chair.

Mmmmmmm, Chipotle...I sure hope they open one up here sometime soon.

As you can see, William is thoroughly enjoying himself.

Just looking at this picture is making me hungry...

"They have a Chipotle!?!?!?!?!" I think she ate more than I did.

So, for a moment we had nothing to do...so I had Jessica spin this pen, while I took a photo. :)
Our little knight...
Playing our new pirate game in hotel kept us busy for a while. I won, so I'm not sure if that is good or bad...

  2. Is that Dread Pirate from Front Porch Games?

I've been able to play some of the other Front Porch Games. I'm sadly underwhelmed by the rules, but the actual game components are really nifty! Is that the one with actual metal coins to use with the game?

  4. Hey Melissa,

Yeah!!!! I would love that recipe! Those things are soooo good. :)

    Mr. Ben-Ezra,

Yup, that is what it's called. We were thinking about changing some of the rules to make it a little harder to play, but the pieces to the game are so neat!

    Mrs. P,

Y'all are heading out tomorrow!?!?!? We went to church at Wise County, and it was strange not to see y'all there! Tell the family I said "hi!"

  5. Tiffany,

I meant to ask you what patterns you are using for your Reformation costumes. We are thinking about hosting a Reformation party and I would love to see what patterns you are using.

    Thanks!!

P.S. I love your glasses. Very cute!

    Love, Mrs.P

    Tiffany,

It looks like you and your fam had a wonderful time here in the Lone Star state! I loved the pictures, they were great, and funny.

Love to read both of your blogs (whispering wonders is fantastic)
