It was one of those March days...

...when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. ~Charles Dickens Jared was over yesterday, so we went for a walk for the first time in months and thought you might enjoy viewing a few pictures of our excursion. I also posted some pictures here of the farm animals that we don't own. :)

The kids...minus Caleb who so kindly took a picture so that Jessica could be in it.

William tried to master the art of skipping stones on the lake. I love that big bandage on his knee...

Melissa thought we could have fish for dinner...lol :)

Yes, another picture of William...we've decided that eventually, William is going to have a whole external hard drive dedicated to him...

I'd like to know what she was thinking.

William, Jessica and Caleb stop for a picture in the middle of the road.

Y'all come back now, ya hear?

  1. Wow, first to comment. I have this question I've been wanting to ask. Do you guys live on a road that is not used very much at night? How in the world did you get Jessica to be in a picture?:)

  2. I am so glad you posted the group picture with Jessica in it, because all the ones without her just didn't turn out very well. :D

It's a good things that digital storage is getting cheap otherwise you might have to pick up more sewing jobs just to afford the storage space for all those pictures of William.

  3. Nathan,

Wow...you are the first to comment...you just scored some brownie points. ;-)

I don't think the gravel road is used often at night. There are only nine houses down our private road, and the people living there are older, and there is only one family that has children who drive, besides us, of course...:) Why? You planning on camping out when y'all come?

Regarding Jess, well, she took a few pics of us with Caleb in the group, and then she asked Caleb to take a few so she could be in them...shocking, isn't it? :)

    Jared,

lol...actually, I think this is the only that really did turn out! :) The other ones have people talking, or moving hair out of their faces, *hangs head in shame* or some other odds and ends...Caleb must have talent... :)

lol...I don't usually follow storage devices, so it's nice to know that they are getting cheaper... He's just so irresistibly cute we can't help ourselves from whipping out the camera...let's just hope he doesn't grow up to be a self-conceited little guy...

  5. Well, Its something I saw in a movie you lay out in the middle of the road at night and look at stars. That is very shocking about Jessica. I like brownie points. How many more do I need till I can have some of your cheesecake?

  6. Elizabeth,

It WAS that warm...it snowed yesterday. :( Anonymous comments don't really bother me as long as they leave their names... ;-) Just wondering, have we met before?

    Nathan,

Lay in the middle of the road?!?! Our neighbors have some property that's mostly tree-less, you could get a pretty good view of the stars there...it'd be more comfortable than the gravel...

I think you earned enough brownie points a long time ago... :) What kind of cheesecake?

  9. Great Pictures! You need to get a tripod so you can take the picture with everyone in it!

I might be flying up with Joshua soon. The only down side about it, is that Daniel will not be able to come up with me because of work!

    Miss you and love you!

    The March wind roars
Like a lion in the sky,
    And makes us shiver
    As he passes by.

    When winds are soft,
And the days are warm and clear,
    Just like a gentle lamb,
    Then spring is here.

You are in some of the pictures!!! That is a rare event, indeed. Hopefully the warm weather is there to stay. I am ready for it...

William is ALL boy, how did he get this particular bandage? He will wear it proudly, and show off any related scars, and smile the whole time.

    Later!

Scratch my comment about the warm weather being there to stay! I just read your dad's post. Hang in there, warmth is bound to come sometime. (Unless we get a sudden Ice Age!)

  12. Elizabeth,

Thanks. It encourages me to know that others are encouraged by my blog. :)

    Nathan,

Well, if the gravel calls, I suppose you could lay down in the middle of the road... :) You don't know what kind of cheesecake you want? Maybe I'll put up a poll on my blog...

    Christa-Dear,

Yeah, we do need a tripod. We actually have one, but the top piece that attaches the camera to the tripod is missing...I keep talking about going to the camera store and checking to see if they have one, I just need to do it. :)

Oh, we'd LOVE to see you and Joshua!!! If it does work out for you to come visit, no baby hogging, okay? ;-) We'd miss Daniel, though... I think I'm going to get really serious about job hunting for him...even if it's in St. Louis...:)

Love y'all! Kiss the baby for me.

    Ben,

Yes, I made it into a picture!! It's almost as shocking as Jessica being in one! ;-) lol

As for William's bandage... He was taking a walk with Melissa the other day, and as he stepped onto the gravel road, he fell and skinned his knee pretty bad. But, nobody noticed and he didn't cry. They continued their walk and when they were coming home they realized that he was bleeding... :) lol He is quite the brave little guy.

Ice age? Oh, that would be bad. Snow on Easter Sunday wasn't exactly what we were hoping for, but the high for today is 57...so that's better. :) If only the sun would come out...

  18. I was going to say the same thing as the last to people. Or is it three because Danial and Christa said the same thing?

I am also looking forward to a new post.
