A random shot of the apple.
Abigail and her nifty apple peeler.
Measuring the cinnamon.
When the caramel was finally done (poor Abigail thought it would never finish! :)) we poured it over the apples, decorated the top and it was ready to bake.
Waiting ever so patiently.
A random shot of the Buttermilk Chess pies from earlier today.
Leaf detail.
The finished product. Though I'm not a huge Apple Pie fan (I know...the traditional All-American pie...but it's never been a favorite) the smell is unbeatable! Scratch and sniff stickers anybody? ;)
Looks good. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't you mean Scratch and Taste?!? :P :) All the food looks so so so yummy!!
ReplyDeleteMelissa,
ReplyDeleteHaha...was it scratch and taste? I can't remember. I suppose I'll have to go back and look at that post from...*gasp* was that a WHOLE year ago?!?! My how time doth fly...:)
Carmel apple pie, with a fancy crust, sounds scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteThe random shot is...random. That is a core standing up in the center, right? The aerial perspective makes it look flat! (I can hear people snickering, [or should I say sniggering?], already, but it looks flat to me!)
The finished product has to be one of the most gorgeous pies I have ever seen! Great job Abigail!
I hope your family's Thanksgiving was a wonderful time of family, fellowship, and food!
Later,
BFH
Ben,
ReplyDeleteSince I don't really care for apple pies, I figured I'd make one that sounded better than the rest...so we made homemade caramel. :)
Sniggering? Did you get that from "My Fair Lady?" ;) Yes, the core is standing up and the apple pieces are laying down. Abby peeled the apples and I cored and sliced them. We had fun making her a special wheat free pie.
Our Thanksgiving was scrumdidaleedumptious! I have a post in the works with all those details! Oh, and your compliment on the pie brought big smiles to Abigail's face. :)
