One of the events that we've been planning and greatly looking forward to this year was our Mother ~ Daughter Tea. The entire day went by so quickly and it was such a delight to be part of it. We each had the wonderful opportunity to host our own tables, and it was amazing to see how each person put their personality and flair into the decorations. Each table was unique, each table was beautiful and each table was decorated with love and care.

The speakers were fantastic, the skit was hilarious, the food delicious, fellowship sweet...I could keep bragging about the day, and maybe I should and those of you who didn't make it this year will have to come next year! Enjoy the pictures!

"Red is dead, blue is through,
Green's obscene, brown's taboo.
Think Pink!"

My photography table.

Jessica's absolutely adorable book table...see the "book worms" in the candy dish? :)

Melissa's seaside table.

Homemade napkin rings...made with love.

Details to make up the whole.

Sierra had a cute nature themed table with a nest as her centerpiece.

Melinda's lovely table had oil lamps and daisy flowers.

Sweet mother-daughter time.

This little guy was such a cutie!

Mrs. Erber is a delight to listen to!

Grace is getting a story from Mimi. :)

This is called Low Tea Time.

A sight like this is so sweet.

Mother and Daughter speaking.

There was time to reconnect.

What a delightful skit! Many thanks to Melinda and Mrs. W. for sharing with us!

My own dear mother.

Don't you just love it when people leave self-portraits on your camera?

Lots of laughter.

Good conversations.

A tray of goodies and a gentleman with a very classy bow tie. ;-)

"Y'all come back, next year...ya' hear!"

  7. Jessica,

lol, I know! I wish y'all had been able to make it to the tea in CO. When y'all pass through here, it would be fun to have a tea. :)

    Amanda,

Tea parties are fun. The water mess is cleaned up and the water inspector guys are coming over to look at things...fans and dehumidifiers have been running since last night... :)

    Jacqueline,

Thanks! We really enjoyed the event and are already thinking of new themes for next year! :)

The Air Force Academy was AMAZING!!!! I hope Stephen gets a chance to meet our Lt. Col out there. Be sure to take pictures of y'alls visit when you go! :) Love you!

    Ithilwen,

We had fun decorating our own tables. Each one was so different too! lol, the poem is from the movie "Funny Face" and it's actually a song. :)

That is my name in Scottish Gaelic, actually. Part of my heritage. :)

    Jen,

Everything was delightful, and I'm sure next year will be even better!

    Elissa-dear,

  9. It looks like it was a beautiful event! I would have been nervous about someone spilling tea on those splendid decorations.
Please come out West and teach us how to do it; I'll even wear a bow tie!

  10. Ohhh. I so wish I had been there. I'm really going to try for next year.

The decorations were beautiful, as were the attendees, the gentlemen serving looked dashing and so many of our friends were speaking. Sigh. Next year...

Oh, Mr.H put "I'll even wear a bow tie" in writing. We will all remember that one!

    Thanks for sharing. Mrs.H

  11. Jen,

We were very pleased with the turnout. There is always next year! :)

    Mr. H.,

As far as I know, there were no spills or damages to the decorations. I would love to come out West and help with a tea, especially if you wear a bow tie! :)

    Mrs. H.,

I wish you had been able to make it too! We missed you. :( It was a fun event and we are very much looking forward to next year! The young men were amazing, and we were very thankful for their service. Ben would've been a nice addition. ;)

lol, yes we will remember and I think he would look very cute. :)

    Love you!

  12. Food is more important than ambiance. Observe this rule, and your husband will never complain about anything.

Teas are weird, as they combine what is commonly known among guys as "bird" food with uncomfortable personal rituals, such as staring at the person that put their napkin on their lap last, or screaming at the person who wouldn't eat and couldn't pronounce escargots. Not exactly my cup of tea...
