Yesterday was such a whirlwind of events! We felt like chickens running around with our heads cut off (never mind that I don't have any idea what that feels like)! The morning hours were just like the usual - and then somebody called and said that they would like to see the house. And so began the headless chicken feeling. Paint cans were taken out again, vacuum cleaners turned on, floors mopped, house picked up and dusted, etc...once all this was done, and at about 11, I tossed a batch of brownies in the oven to make the house smell good. :)

The two older boys decided to play "men" today, so they headed off to work with the Father. Just before the people coming to look at the house arrived, I took Thomas, Belle and Felicity outside to play. They didn't stay too long and as soon as they were gone, we loaded up in the van and headed off to CiCi's Pizza for lunch. When we arrived back home, they girls took their naps upstairs and Thomas hibernated in the cushions on the couch. (I did get a photo of him, but as I don't have the cord to transfer photos, I'm not able to put it up. :( But when I get back home, I'll put up the photos that I'm taking.)

During that time, I'm not exactly sure what we did! I just know that we were exhausted. After dinner, we cleaned up, bathed babies, had family worship and put them to bed. I read a couple chapters from a book, but my sleepiness soon overcame me. We all actually went to bed early last night, thus the reason for no post yesterday.

This morning the pressure-washer arrived to clean the outside of the house. We read some books, a few more titles to add to the other favorites, which are:

1. Beatrix Potter
2. There's a Wocket in My Pocket
3. Fish Out of Water
4. Many Bunnies
5. The Squire and the Scroll

After lunch we put the girls down for a nap and then headed off to run some errands. When we arrived back home, I made some banana bread to eat after dinner, or supper as they call it here. We then began to work on dinner, which consisted of Southwestern Grilled Salsa Chicken, peas, salad, and delicious fresh tomatoes from the Shank's garden. We also had a guest over for dinner tonight. Mr. Finnegan is quite a character. He watches the History Channel all day and calls Mr. Chancey with some new bit of information, a conspiracy or new theory. Before dinner, he and I discussed Scottish history, during dinner he gave us the latest bit of historical facts, and after dinner he recited poetry for us. He should be dining with us tomorrow evening as well with some more people from church.

Something I had posted the other day did not come through to one of my readers the way it should have. When Thomas said that he and I were going to be "deep sea diapers," he was of course meaning, deep sea divers. Clear as mud?

I did talk to my sweet Emma and Abby today. They are such darlings! Abigail told me that they were having some friends over for the weekend and has promised to take good care of them. So if you know who you are, and you happen to be reading this, rest assured that your comfort is being well thought of. :) I only wish I could be there to help her.

And so I end my day blogging once again. Where does the time go?

Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore,
So do our minutes hasten to their end;
Each changing place with that which goes before,
In sequent toil all forwards do contend.
Nativity, once in the main of light,
Crawls to maturity, wherewith being crowned,
Crooked eclipses 'gainst his glory fight,
And Time that gave doth now his gift confound.
Time doth transfix the flourish set on youth
And delves the parallels in beauty's brow,
Feeds on the rarities of nature's truth,
And nothing stands but for his scythe to mow:
And yet to times in hope, my verse shall stand
Praising thy worth, despite his cruel hand.
