At 4:42 this morning, Dad brought Emma up to our room. After he put her in bed, he told us that Mom's water broke and the midwives were on the way. Melissa and I lay still for a while, hoping that Emma would soon fall back asleep, but she knew something was up and kept looking at me in the dark and asking, "Mama's water broke?" :)
One of the assistants arrived, so we threw some clothes on and came downstairs. Cathy Rude, the midwife, pulled up and began unloading her equipment. We turned on a movie for the little ones to keep them busy as they couldn't go outside. The other assistant soon came in, and now all three of them are helping out.
I just heard that the baby was on his way out. As soon as I hear more, I'll put it up! Keep posted.
