At nine this morning, the children and I headed over to the Steve McClay home (a family from church) just a few minutes away from here. The McClay's have six sweet children. They live in a beautiful two story home that they are fixing up. The entry way has stained glass windows, and a huge staircase that winds around to the upstairs. They have wood floors and paneling. The house has so much character! I had such a great time visiting with Mrs. McClay and her daughters.

Before they moved in, the house had been broken into apartments, so it they are trying to put it back into one piece. I've been told that the man who lived there before the apartments had been a plumber, and a very wealthy one at that. He never put his money in the bank, however. The neighborhood rumor is that he hid his fortune somewhere in his huge house. There are so many places where it could be hidden. The McClay children are continually on the lookout for the treasure.

We were back home at about noon for John Nathan's piano lesson. His teacher's bank was robbed last week, and we also heard that two stores had been robbed here in town today and the criminal is armed and on the loose. Such pleasant news, wouldn't you say? There were police roaming the neighborhood this morning and we couldn't figure out why until later today. It looks like there is a tire slasher running around as well.

We didn't read very many books today. I'm not sure why, but it just never happened. I suppose the time just ran away today. Other than these two events, we didn't really do much. I did talked with Christa and Melissa. It was wonderful to talk to them and hear their voice.

They actually lost there car key somewhere on the playground and Jonathan or Christa (I can't remember which one) found it out by the slide. It was PITCH black outside!!! Christa could only find this tiny flashlight. We were sure that they wouldn't find it. But they did! :) It was fun, I wish you could've been there!
